NHS Providers submission to the DHSC's consultation 'Creating a smokefree generation and tackling youth vaping'

The Department of Health and Social Care launched a consultation into smoking a vaping, with proposals to protect future generations from the harms of smoking, including raising the age of sale for tobacco products and restrictions on the flavour and design of vape products.

Our response highlighted the role that trusts can take in contributing to the smokefree agenda, through smoking cessation services and Making Every Contact Count with patients. We welcome proposals focused on preventing the uptake of smoking in young people, recognising the inequalities that exist in smoking rates.
