Supporting aspirant FTs
The NHS Providers Preparation Programme is open to all NHS trusts that are working towards foundation trust status. The programme has been providing support for aspirant trusts since 2007, and is funded and supported by the NHS Trust Development Authority. It assists colleagues in aspirant foundation trusts by drawing on the experience and good practice developed by existing foundation trusts, as well as by linking in with stakeholders such as the NHS Trust Development Authority and Monitor to keep trusts up to date on developments in the application process.
The programme includes a series of events, briefings, information provision, help to set up buddying and mentoring relationships, as well as bespoke support tailored to meet the needs of individual trusts. Both NHS Provider members and non-members can access this support free of charge.
New to the programme this year are intensive workshops on:
- Non-executive director challenge
- Quality governance
